Underturf irrigation KISSS

If you want to keep a lawn looking good and water it legally on dripper days, KISSS underturf drip irrigation ( www.kisss.com.au/page/residential.html ) is a good option. This tube has the advantage over plain dripper line in that it has a felt wrap around the pipe which spreads the water through the soil profile quicker and more evenly.

KISSS flat can be used on new lawns and the wrap is used on existing lawns. On new lawns we cover the KISSS tube with approx. 50mm of new soil and then place the new rollout turf on top of that. In exiting lawns we trench a small trench approx. 100 deep and place the wrap in and then backfill.

Through our experience we find 4 hours of watering per week is sufficient to maintain a good lawn in Summer and less at the other times of the year. This will use approx. 40% of the water used if using pop-up sprinklers to keep the lawn in the same condition!

We have used KISSS underturf irrigation on our plots of 'Kikuyu', 'Sir Walter' buffalo and 'Santa Anna' couch at our display in Luther road, Loxton.
